Lodging and Information about the “Team Competition”

I’ve had a few questions about the lodging and logistics of this years show, so I figured I’d answer them publicly.

This year’s hotel is the same as last:

La Quinta Inn & Suites Clearwater South
5000 Lake Blvd.
Clearwater, FL 33760
727-299-9800

The rate is $74 per night, but you MUST ask for the Tampa Bay Strongman rate in order to get the discount.

If you have any trouble with the reservation desk, ask for the assistant Manager, Jeff Baker.

This hotel is located ON THE VENUE GROUNDS, so you don’t have to worry about parking the day of (with 3-4,000 people expected, parking will be limited).

I HIGHLY encourage you to reserve two nights and arrive early. It’s July in Florida and the beaches are minutes from the venue grounds. Relax and enjoy the area before you get ready to compete on Saturday evening.

TEAM EVENT

In order to enter a team, you must have a minimum of 4 competitors and a max of 8. The cost is $40 per team and the award is a large trophy for 1st place ONLY!

Judging will consist of the top 4 athletes on a team and the athletes will accumulate points by the following methods:
The athlete will only receive a team point if they place within the top 4 of each event.

4th place will receive 1 point
3rd place will receive 2 points
2nd place will receive 3 points and
1st place will receive 5 points (bonus point for winning event)

Example: If Magnus Von Strongmanorwoman Places 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 2nd in their respective events than he/she will received 5 points for the 1st event, 2 points for the 2nd, 0 for the 3rd and 3 for the 4th, creating a total of 10 points. The top 4 totals for each team will then be added up to see who is the winner! You MUST declare who is on your team by the entry date. There will be no additions after the entry is received.
